The Wax
125 King Street West
Led by musique actuelle veteran Pierre Tanguay, this Quebecois group performs music inspired by folk musics from all over the world while dressed in semi-formal attire of the 1930's — fedoras, bowties and suit vests. Their performance at Open Ears will feature their spoken word and musical interpretation of Fernando Pessoa’s enigmatic The Book of Disquiet.
From Klezmer, folk, and various ethnic repertories they take you on an excursion from the banks of the Black Sea, to Odessa; from the high plateaus of Araby to the islands of the Azores and on to the Holy Land of Quebec's Eastern Townships and now with a stop over at the Lion d'Or.
Valody includes the following souls:
Accordions: Nadia Delisle, Diane Labrosse
Double basses: Jean-Sébastien Clément, Benoît Converset
Clarinets: Richard Simas, Milan Simas
Guitar: Alain Morrier
Percussion and artistic direction: Pierre Tanguay
Violin: Benoît Garneau
